The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) has published the report of the Evaluation of Cooperation Strategy for South Sudan (2017-2020) led by Anne-Lise Klausen, NCG.

The Swiss programme emphasizes the protection of civilians and promotion of human rights, support to food security and livelihoods, and the fostering of spaces for dialogue and common action for peace, and initiatives towards truth, justice and reconciliation. The evaluation concluded that these areas of engagement continue to be very relevant and much needed in future, but with a need to focus more in particular on resilience and livelihoods through an HDP nexus approach; address the alarming levels of protection needs and in particular sexual and gender-based violence. Switzerland also has a strong experience with peacebuilding initiatives which will continue to be at the core of the programme.
