NCG has been contracted by Danida Fellowship Centre to conduct a course about Human Rights Based Approach to Development (HRBA).

The overall aim of this course is to provide participants with a contemporary understanding of the linkage between human rights and (human) development, and the ability to integrate and apply key principles of a HRBA in their own practice within their organizations and institutions.

The overall course objectives are:
By applying the principles and tools related to the Human Rights Based Approach (HRBA), and through own action planning, participants will acquire theoretical knowledge and gain practical skills with regard to HRBA as well as professional competences to apply HRBA to development planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. The pre-course attitude of participants is expected to be one of genuine interest in HRBA and general openness, the post-course attitude of participants will be influenced by behavioral techniques (Peer interaction, experience sharing, action planning and a learner-centred approach) to be one of keen willingness and positive interest to apply HRBA to their own immediate working area (based on own action plans).

Target group:
Senior development practitioners from ministries, national institutions, local government bodies and civil society organizations who are involved in and in a position to influence decisions regarding development programming and implementation and/or strategy development and implementation.

The course was succesfully held in Copenhagen, Denmark (27th March - 07 April 2017).
