The second phase of Danida's 2011-2015 Environment Sector Support programme has 3 components:

i) support to MICOA (Ministry of Environment) and the National Disaster Management Instititute and mainstreaming of environment and climate change in key sector ministries

ii) Support to Urban Environmental Management under a jont- financed Municipal Development Programme

iii) Support to Civil Society Organisations in natural resource management and land rights through the co-financed CSO support facility AGIR.

The assignment concerned formulation of a transitional support programme focussing on local and central level implementation of priority climate change actions in Mozambique including a bridging phase between the existing ESPS II and the new Country Programme, guided by Mozambican and Danish Government development policies on climate change, green economy and green growth.

Based on a concept note endorsed by Danida's Programme Committee, the transition programme programmed 80 million DKK of support to the three main component areas, with 50 million from the Climate Change Envelope and 30 million DKK from the existing ESPS II for a bridging programme 2015-2017, when the new Mozambique Country Programme is expected to start.
