Mid Term Review of the Uganda Governance Programme
The development objective of the Uganda Good Governance Programme (July 2011 to June 2016) is:
- Equitable growth
- Poverty reduction
- Rule of law and long-term stability in Uganda.
It consists of three components: Component 1, which is joint donor support to the Democratic Governance Facility, and Component 2 and 3 which is support to the Justice, Law and Order Sector and support for Accountable Local Service Delivery, respectively.
The programme has strong emphasis on the supply and demand side of access to justice, democracy, human rights, peace-building, accountability and local service delivery reflecting a balanced and broad-based approach to governance. It is closely aligned to Uganda's National Development Plan.
A Mid-Term Review was foreseen in the programme document in order to provide recommendations on the Danish support to Good Governance in Uganda.
