Support to the National Assembly of Zambia

Long-term assignment with the objective of enhancing the economic governance in Zambia through improved public financial management, strengthened accountability processes and increased management for results.

NCG’s Expert Mr. Kragh is currently attached to EUs Support to the National Assembly of Zambia Programme (2014-17) as one of two key experts providing support to the strengthening of the institutional and human capacities of the National Assembly. Mr Kragh serves as the key expert on capacity development for both parliamentarians and assembly staff. 

The assignment includes among others  the following interventions:

• Creation of in-house technical expertise to enable the provision of support  to the Parliamentary sub-committees
• Enhancement of the capacity of the Estimates Committee, the Public Accounts Committee and the Committee of Economic Affairs, Energy and Labour to perform their mandates as per the Constitution.
• General PFM capacity development for Port Folio Committees, including staff and MPs.
• Creation of a Budget Office within the National Assembly.
