Jakob Silas Lund has extensive practical experience in humanitarian action, gender, human rights and peacebuilding. As well as having founded and directed a grassroots organization operating in Sierra Leone and Denmark, Jakob has held leadership positions in ActionAid Denmark and Amnesty International Denmark as well as several years’ experience with UN Women at HQ and a host of country offices across Latin America, Africa and Asia.

Jakob has approximately fifteen years of experience working in partnerships focused on human rights, gender equality, restorative conflict resolution, and humanitarian action. His core expertise includes capacity-building, human rights-based approaches, and gender analysis. He has supported a range of local, national and international organizations in building their capacities to best respond to the needs of rights-holders in situations ranging from humanitarian crises to post-conflict reconstruction to preparedness and risk management. He has authored and co-authored articles and books on issues ranging from women’s rights and corruption to post-conflict reconciliation and multilateral power imbalances at the United Nations. He holds a B.A. in public administration from Roskilde University and an M.A. in international affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.
