PAQUE, Projet d’amélioration de la qualité de l’enseignement, July 2010 – July 2013, was a quality education development project implemented by BØRNEfonden (BØF) and Ibis, in close cooperation with different stakeholders; Ministry of Education and its decentralized structures, parents associations, teachers and pedagogical supervisors.

The project aimed to improve the quality of teaching in primary schools for boys and Girls in the project areas and to bring about structural and policy changes in primary education related to quality and equity.

This was sought trough the following components:

1) Improve the pedagogical competencies of teacher’s in primary school in the project areas

2) Improve the capacities of parents association’s in school management in the project areas

3) Improve the physical environment of schools in the project areas

4) Improve collaboration between civil society and official structures with the view to contribute to an overall improvement of quality in Burkina Faso’s primary schools.

Based on the final evaluation of PAQUE, the assignment consisted of formulation and development of a final project proposal co-financed by BØF and IBIS based on the recommendations and the learning from PAQUE I, and conforming to CISU (Danish NGO support fund mechanism's requirements .

The proposal has to describe clear division of roles and responsibilities between the two organizations within a common budget frame of approx. 10 mio. DKK, of which 5 mio. are expected to be financed by BØF via CISU and 5 by IBIS from DANIDA framework funds.
